I Will Die Tomorrow But Not Today
Memoirs of Bernard (Burl) Schuster
Rochester attorney Bernie Schuster was a survivor of the Holocaust who generously shared his personal experiences through
lectures, and eventually in this book of his memoirs. Winterman Ink worked closely with the Schuster family from concept to
completion. We spent over a year with Bernie and his wife Jane, chronicling Bernie's experiences as a young boy in German-occupied
Poland and his resettlement in the United States. We also helped to restore the treasured family photographs he managed to
keep from that era.
The book started out as a way to preserve his memories for future generations of his own family but ended up being so much
more. After Bernie's untimely death, it remains a important teaching tool that documents the daily culture and traditions of
pre-war Poland, the devastation of the war and finally, the rebirthing of an entire generation of Jews. It is a lasting
legacy to an incredible person and we were so lucky to be a part of this project.
