Coloring Book

Karen J. Burns is a well-known painter and graphic artist who wanted to create a coloring book that would teach budding artists, young and old, how to create every color in the rainbow with just three colored pencils. We worked closely with Karen to extend her original concept by adding copy that evoked a number of different scenarios to get the reader's creative juices flowing. Each page presented another of Karen's whimsical line drawings plus simple instructions and samples of each technique. We also designed unique packaging that housed the book, pencils and a sharpener in a distinctive box and served as a powerful display in a retail environment. The title You Can't Stay Within the Lines So Don't Even Try emphasizes the endless possibilities of unique artistic expressions that can be created by using the professional quality pencils and the techniques presented. The book was honored with a prestigious Parent Choice Award.
